Anyone else simultaneously hate and love Modays as much as I do? I hate them because well, the weekends are over. duh. And I really find it hard to get up to go to the gym at 4:30 am, BUT I have to since I’ve usually pigged out all weekend! ugh
At the same time, I love Mondays! Because it’s the beginning of a new week, duh. There’s something about getting the house cleaned after an eventful OR not so eventful weekend (we may or may not have binged watched the second season of Ozark), and getting caught up on laundry and grocery shopping that makes me feel better about life. I need order and cleanliness in my life to stay sane.
And even though you might judge me, I’m so freaking excited for my kids to get out of the house and go to school! I love them, I really do. More than anything in the whole world, I promise. Just like my Quinny girl says, “even more than chocolate, and more than all the stars that fall from the sky.” Pretty sure she got that last one from a book, but that’s ok. Lol. I still think she’s super smart and she obviously means it full heartedly as do I. 😉
But OMG, I can only handle so much refereeing of who’s turn it is to play Fortnite, who’s turn it is to load the dishwasher, who made the mess in the game room, who ate the last cookie, etc. You get my point. Mama needs a break!
Fortunately for my fellow Austinites and I, it is NOT hotter than hell today. Woo hoo! That means I finally get to wear my 1 State blush booties that I got at the Norstrom Anniversary sale. Holla!!
So far so good, they are actually really comfortable and although they have a little heel on them, it’s low enough that I didn’t feel overdressed walking into my daughter’s school today. I had to bring her some shorts because she was “violating” the dress code for wearing leggings with a shirt that didn’t “cover her whole bottom.” (eyeroll) She’s 10 y’all! Is that even a thing yet? Oh well, the point is that these adorable booties are perfect for every day wear and they make my everyday outfits that much cuter, ya know?
Not to mention the cutouts on the sides are not only cute, but they help my feet so they don’t get sweaty with no socks on. That happens to everyone else right? lol And how cute is this denim shirt from Express? I didn’t know if I would love the length because with my short torso, sometimes the short, loose shirts can look boxy on me.
And I don’t know, maybe it still does LOL. But the little feminine details on the sleeves and buttons cancel that out for me. Cause I’m loving it! And I can’t leave out my fav staple black jeans, the Hudson Nicos! They are SO soft and lightweight that I honestly don’t know if I can even call them jeans. And maybe I’ll get to wear them all day instead of ripping them off for some shorts when it undoubtedly gets hot later. Wish me luck!
